Simple Verses

My heart is the strange dagger in my chest:
It stings of sin
And burdens me to live.
I was not so naive of some truth:
For my own heart, is only there to 'beat'.

Nice. A rather interesting personification. Just uh, try to be consistent with your verb tenses. It tends to shatter the poetic imagery.
