Norman Wilwayco

Philippine Literature and Graphic novels/Comic books na lang ang binibili ko kasi andami natin ditong foreign books sa site.

Twisted ni J. Zafra, Smaller and Smaller Circles by F.H. Batacan (nabili ko sa Powerbooks to, maganda siya, thriller), Lines on the Sole/Guhit ng Talampakan by Khavn De La Cruz are recommended.

A Graphic Novel by Arnold Arre, Elmer by Gerry Alanguilan (this one was praised by Neil Gaiman ;), really good story about our world where chickens are considered as 'one of us' and they talk as well).

Hmm, comic series, great and funny-as-hell works by Lyndon Gregorio (Beerkada) and Manix Abrera (Kikomachine).

Thank goodness for Powerbooks, okay lang kahit tumambay ka the whole afternoon. :beat:

Eto lang yung nag-iisang local book na nakuha ko in ebook form (bumili na ko ng hard copy nito pero hindi ko pa din binubura sa HD ko), MAGANDA siya talaga and according sa isang blogger, books by Wilwayco "...truly shatters and destroys the comfort zones of Filipino Literature", "defy the boundaries of what we call Filipino Literature...", "Eye Opening and definitely not for the weak-hearted..":

Gerilya
(2009)

*Grand Price Winner of The Don Carlos Palanca Awards for 2008*

Got this blurb from a review of the book:

The novel is a story of giving names to the most often unknown masses, for in most cases, they were the ones who would save the movement in its various crises. In face of deep corruption by many politicians of what the masses really amount to, the novel breathes lives to these people in the margins, in the villages where true revolutions take place, where “the history of national-democratic revolution is currently being written."

Hope you like this one. If you see a hard copy of this book, show your support and go buy one.

Dahil sa pag-reminisce ko about the beauty and brilliance of Gerilya, I found another book by Wilwayco from his website.

7760011.jpg

Mondomanila
(2002)

"'Maynila sa Mga Kuko ng Liwanag' for the new millenium."
JON RED, writer, director, "Utang ni Tatang"

"These characters are amoral. The novel is non-judgemental. Just presents a view, albeit a disturbing view. Malalim ang galit ng pangunahing tauhan. The environment, particularly Tony's environment is inhabited by characters who are pushed to the extremeby poverty. Nakakatulala. "
CLODUALDO DEL MUNDO, JR., Screenwriter,"Manila sa mga Kuko ng Liwanag", "Batch 81", "Kisapmata"

"Pinoy 'Trainspotting'!"
LAV DIAZ, Writer-Director, "Batang Westside"

"Pangahas ang akda at nililigalig tayo upang maging matatag at malaya."
LILIA QUINDOSA-SANTIAGO, Poet-fictionist, Institute of Creative Writing

Blurb by a blogger:

Life, according to Tony de Guzman, is short, harsh and uncertain. Grab what you can when you can. Settle scores. Be randy. Defy the rules. Cheat the system. Tough it out. Don’t let the good stuff blind you to the bitter truth. Life is war and war is hell.

Reader Advisory: This book has almost X content and a bit graphic for Pinoy taste.

*Here are reviews for the book if you're itching to know how it goes.*

Shelfari

goodreads

*Interesting Trivia*

Khavn De La Cruz made a film based on this book. I think there are trailers on Youtube.

Hmm, I remember yung friend ko, .txt formats ang ginagamit niya. Kina-cut niya per chapter (or else mapuputol kapag buong book in-upload), then paste sa Notepad, tapos yun yun nilalagay niya sa 6630 niya.

So far, wala pa kong nakikitang Filipino love stories e.

ung inupload ko po, romance po un. nakakaiyak ung ending nya.

gusto ko nga basahin un sir.. Kaso dko alam kung panu i install ung officesuite,,tska k0ng panu gamitin un...

suggestion lang po....

an alternative to use as an ebook reader for .doc, .html or .txt format, u may use xplore as reader na rin. hanap ka na lang nun dito sa symbianize. or sa official site mismo nung xplore. pwede sya sa lahat ng series 60 phones..

if u have never used xplore or any file manager before carefull ka lang kasi bka maexcite ka sa mga pwede mong gawin using that application at may mabura kang kung anu anu o mgawa ka na di dapat sa cp mo.. haha..

hope this helps!

another suggestion..

u may us mobipocket reader. it can view html or txt formats. and you can choose color of background and text pa. just remeber lang na dapat ilagay nyo sa loob ng folder na ebook un gusto nyong basahin.. gamit na lang kayo file manager to do that. both xplore and mobireader pwede sa s60 v2. nagamit ko to sa 6680 ko.

sa nagtatanong naman kung pano magconvert pwede nyo rin iselect all taz icopy un texts tpos ipaste nyo sa ms word taz save as html nyo..
