(illusion of no FUP; DL normal but UL still FUP'd)

THIS DOESN'T DO SHIT IF YOUR BASE STATION HAS A PROBLEM... CALL *1888 TO CHECK if there is one or if you are even under FUP. Many think they are FUP'd when it is actually a base station problem. Many more say the illusion is patched when they are doing something, or again, a base station or SECTOR problem. I'll tell you when it doesn't work anymore.
THIS IS IMPORTANT...
THE WORKAROUND DOES NOT RESTORE YOU UPLOAD SPEED... your Download speed will slow down or even disconnected if COMPETING ACTIVITIES are using up your 200kbits OF UPLOAD. ALL INTERNET ACTIVITY USES SOME UPLOAD... Online games and uploading, patently are UL HOGS. So you will have limited success with those.
TO MANAGE THIS LIMITATION...
YOU SHOULD MAKE FEWER CONNECTIONS (don't chop up your download with IDM, for example, because more connections = more upload to maintain those connections)
YOU SHOULD LIMIT YOUR TORRENT UPLOAD TO AROUND 10kBytes or LESS... leave some room for browsing...
AND AVOID UPLOAD INTENSIVE APPLICATIONS LIKE UPLOADING PICTURES OR VIDEOS TO THE CLOUD/INTERNET.
You will have limited success with activities that are upload heavy like video skype'ing.
YOU CAN USE A ROUTER WITH THIS... BUT MORE USERS MEANS MORE PEOPLE USING UP THE UPLOAD. READ ABOUT QoS to manage(LIMIT) the UL of your network connections.
ALSO, I'M NOT GOING TO HELP YOU WITH YOUR ROUTER... YOU HAVE TO FIGURE THAT ONE FOR YOURSELF, GOOGLE. JUST APPLY THE SETTINGS TO YOUR ROUTER's WAN AND IT SHOULD WORK.
IF YOU SUCCESSFULLY DID THE WORKAROUND PLEASE REPOST THIS. YOU CAN'T HAVE TOO MANY OF THIS. SO FAR NOBODY BUT ME DOES.

READ ALL DIRECTIONS BEFORE DOING ANYTHING.

1. Your NORMAL / DEFAULT CONNECTION is set on OBTAIN IP AUTOMATICALLY (DHCP ENABLED).... Auto for short.
You ALWAYS have to GO BACK and start the CYCLE on this step... THIS IS NOT OPTIONAL. If you think the illusion didn't work or had some trouble with the portal... START THE CYCLE WITH THIS STEP.
2. Change your IPv4 settings to STATIC and USE THE FOLLOWING ADDRESSES...
(see STEP 4, 5, and 6 of the attached PHOTO)

If you look at STEPS 1 to 3 of the PHOTO... the addresses I am about to give is the same as the ones automatically assigned to you. We are going to use those addresses except for the IP.
IP ADDRESS
192.168.253.253
This is my go to IP but you can use ANY IP just as long as it is not the one assigned(via DHCP) to you by SMART.
VALID IPs must have 3-digit numbers maxing at 255...
ex. 255.243, 245.245, 231.255...
Say you were assigned 192.168.235.245
you can use 192.168.235.235 or 192.168.245.245... practically ANY IP you weren't using just recently.
SUBNET MASK
255.255.224.0 << 224 .0
DEFAULT GATEWAY
192.168.224.1 << 224.1
DNS SERVERS
These are the DNS servers prescribe to me by SMART. But to really find the fastest DNS for your connection download NAMEBENCH BY GOOGLE and run the program AFTER you successfully did this trick.
THE SET ASSIGNED TO ME
121.1.3.81 ---> faster than Google's 8.8.8.8 according to my tests, results may vary, so give namebench a try.

121.1.3.66 ---> third one is optional but you can still add it by clicking the ADVANCE button in your NETWORK CONNECTION DETAILS.

3. DO A RESET (this prevents error codes on the portal)
Disable / Enable your PC's LAN (see STEP 4 of the PHOTO... it is just above the TEXTBOX)
RESTART your Router if you are using one.
RESTART your PC (optional)
AND OPEN UP A FRESH BROWSER... Incognito seems to do the trick but I suggest that you close all other browsers especially tabs redirected to the mybro portal.
The idea behind the RESET and the Fresh Browser is to force old cookies, DNS servers and old config OUT and have the new ones propagate.
4. YOU CAN NOW RE-CONNECT TO THE PORTAL...
You can let it redirect normally or you can type 121.1.3.201 on your browser.
You need to enter your account details and press submit.
(IF YOU CAN'T RECONNECT, then you did something wrong or skipped a step-- retrace your steps)
Can't see the portal-- you probably entered a wrong address
Got an ERROR CODE and by that I mean ANY ERROR code-- you need to dis/enable your LAN or even reset your computer after changing your IP to static and before you login to the portal.
5. DO A SPEEDTEST
Now some IPs are BAD IPs...
If your NORMAL speed goes above 1.5mbps... these BAD IPs will max out at 1.0mbps
or 0.7mbps if your normal speed is less than 1mbps (call *1888 and have your antennas upgraded btw)
Now according to feedback there are also FUP'd IPs...(maxes out at 0.20 mbps)
I will refer to them as BUGGED IPs because I dealt with somebody who found that 253.253 to be FUP'd but after a couple of cycles of doing this workaround (several forced refresh/config updates/reverts) found the IP to be GOOD again.
so if you have a BAD or BUGGED IP GO BACK to 1... avoid using BAD IP but you can try BUGGED IPs after two or more cycles of this illusion.
Note that if you can already browse with a static IP that means you did the trick... if your speed is still bad/slow... READ THE DISCLAIMER.
